Ahoy, Reef Point Admiralty

I had some Reef Point soap here long ago but sold it since I thought it nothing special. But I've since had a change of heart and have ordered it again. I've been satisfied with non-tallow soaps, but after being reacquainted with the beef through CRSW and Stirling thought the RP a good choice, based on reviews here and elsewhere.

Which scents did you get?

Unscented. I like scents but they begin to wear on me quickly, so instead I just concentrate on performance.

Very impressed with the RP Unscented. Lots of slick and cushion and rich lather. Just the right amount (for me) of aftershave conditioning, too. Between this, the CRSW, and Stirling, I'm thinking tallow ain't such a bad thing after all.

Tallow is where it's at!

I have two Reef Point soaps Test Depth and Submariner. I love Submariner and get top quality shaves from it, great scent, slickness and post shave. I can't say the same for Test Depth though. It's almost as if it's a different formula completely, light airy lather, not much slickness and meh post shave. As a result I haven't purchased any more soaps from this Artisan.

Test Depth is my current favorite from Reef Point. I agree he gets way too little love on the forums or FB.
I'm going to buy Earl Grey and Ginger soon to help support a deserving artisan.

I like Reef Point soaps very much.  More so than Cold River, which seems to get lotsa luv around here.  It's OK but I prefer Reef Point.

Reef Point seems to fall under the radar and doesn't get the love it deserves IMO. Some of their scents are original and unique. Their soaps are nice, but their balms are my favorite products from them, very moisturizing and you only need a small pea sized amount to cover the whole face, so a bottle will last a long time.

Reef Point is one of my all-time favorite soaps. Very thick, very slick luxurious lather, and their scents are manly as it gets. My only beef with Reef Point is they haven't made any new scents in a very very long time. Obviously as long as they keep making my favorites thats fine, but it'd be nice to see something new come out of their shop.

I agree, its always nice to see artisans coming out with new scents. It keeps things interesting and challenging for the soap maker, and keeps customers coming back to try different scents.

Reef Point has moved into my "Top 5". I have used the Peerless and Submariner. They are easy to lather, with excellent cushion and glide. The scent strength is "just right" for me: strong but not overpowering. The aftershaves are excellent too. I have the Submariner AS.
