Advice Needed - What to do with boar brush that is too floppy

Hello.

I have a Razorock Boar Brush with an olive wood handle with 64mm loft. Compared to my Omega 10098 Boar which is firm with a good backbone, the Razorock is quite floppy and even with little pressure on the face, it splays too much and does not produce a good lather because of this.

I really like the handle, so I want to keep the brush, so my question is: is there a way to shorten the loft without damaging the bristles? I guess cutting the tips of the bristles would only damage the knot.

Restrict the bloom by keeping it in a cylinder when not in use (a travel case or even the insides of a toilet roll, for example) and don't soak it for too long before lathering.

Don't trim it my friend.

I have used rubber rings to "shorten" the loft on brushes before.

Go to the hardware store and look for one that's about an inch and fairly sturdy. I don't remember when I got one last what it's intended purpose was, but it was very nice at taming the floppy out of my brush.

Good suggestions, but most of my boars tend to become too floppy too when soaked for too long. 2-3 mins, tops.

Lol. He is full of surpises that one.. ha-ha.

The same could be said about my Zenith B8 brush. It is a little floppy due to the high loft, but like Chris said, it's so soft I don't mind the flop. You can also "choke up" on the brush if you have long enough fingers by putting the bottom of the handle into your palm. Then grab the base of the knot with your fingertips effectively reducing the loft/floppiness.
