I recently came into possession of an old GEM Clog Pruf. There is a pic below. Looking closely, you can see that this razor has a blade stop and that the one of the left is missing. While shaving, I learned that only one stop causes the blade to be uneven, with somewhat bloody and rough results.
These razors, while inexpensive monetarily, are a piece of history. For this reason, I decided to try and repair it.

I thought about replacing the missing stop with epoxy or soldering and decided that I wouldn't be able to get it precise. Therefore, I took my Dremel and removed the remaining blade stop as see below.

You can now see what the GEM looks like with a blade in it with both stops removed. Note the rounded edges on the blade. The blades don't come this way and experience has shown that you can shave with the square blades. I took a nail file and rounded the edges. I believe I have created a very, very aggressive razor. Follow the pics of my GEM, you can see a pic of Maggard's aggressive razor and a GEM with blade stops in place.
I have shaved with GEM w/ no blade stops. I suspect that it will deliver a great shave. I also don't think I have enough skill in shaving at this point to use a razor exposing this much blade with only a tiny amount of blade guard.
It would be great to see your comments.
