MENLO DE SAFETY RAZOR

I know this is advertised an aggressive razor with a huge blade gap and positive blade exposure. For those looking to get an extremely close shave. Don't let this scare you. It is an excellent made razor and shaves as well as razors that are more expensive. I find it very efficient but still smooth. You do need to stay present during your shave but you will be rewarded with an excellent result. I have or tried every high end razor and this is one of my favorites.

It is a new razor, and new company. Will take time.
For me, it was a bit more aggressive than I prefer.
On the other hand, there are many positive reviews in the pass-around.
He has a cool head design, and finish is nice too.
I cannot call Menlo as an underrated razor.

I found the MENLO NEALON to be a harsh shaver.  Aggressive yes; efficient also; beautiful as well, but harsh.  It has a large blade gap and blade exposure, but neither is necessary to shaving efficiency.  If one is careful, it will give a good shave without blood sacrifice.  In my opinion it is not an underrated razor.

Conversely, the FOCUS TRITOK CONCAVE R52 is an extremely efficient razor, with a very small blade gap and minimal blade exposure.  It is highly efficient without being aggressive or harsh.  It is not beautiful (mostly because of it's garishly branded topcap), and it's made from unpolished aluminum.  They also make a polished stainless steel model R62 (also garishly branded), which is only for sale at The Superior Shave.

In my opinion the Focus Tritok Razors R51 & R52 (and 316L SS) R61 & R62) are underrated razors, whereas the Focus Tritok Slant Razor R53 is simply (and unfortunately) a design defective failure.  These are my opinions, YMMV.  Have a good morning.

To me it shaves like a Merkur futur on its highest setting. If that’s your thing, buy it brothers!

I found the Menlo to be a bit harsh in shave as well. It is very efficient but no matter the angle, it always seems to draw a little bit of blood from me. It is a razor I have tried to get along with, much like the Timeless Bronze OC, but I just can’t get it dialed in to enjoy a shave from it.
