Ruds calls the scent of this new soap a "masterpiece" and I must admit that as regards best shaving soap scents on the whole A&E rules the roost IMO.

Didn't Ruds say it's going to be in a new base too. It's sure sound like a nice one. Unfortunately I'm not a club member so I'll have to wait for the public release or another situation.

Yes, an enhanced base for even more slickness & density. Ironic as IMO the current base is superb. Oh well. Smile

Fantastic! Yep I like the new base too, and you could tell if you looked at my tub of Signature, it's getting pretty low.

Asian pear sounds like that could be a great scent

The smell of an Asian pear is very similar to the smell of mahito with the addition of the smell of a pear. I definitely like it. [Image: p50oD7c.jpg]

I like A & E soaps I have about 7 of them, I specifically enjoy Asian Plum. I received Asian Pear at the beginning of this week and have used it twice, This new soap is slightly better than the current formula which makes it slightly better than excellent. The scent to me is wonderful not as sweet as Plum, so on News Year's day, I purchased the splash.

I have used Pear a few more times and now I'm going to kick my opinion up a notch, the old base was wonderful the new base is supurb.

I purchased this soap excited about the reviews, but unfortunately the fragrance is not for me. I am going to flip the unused puck to a HS kid I know who is just starting out as a wet shaver.

That's too bad about the scent. Did you happen to try the updated soap base?
