444 aftershave

Anyone used 444 aftershave?

Im a self confessed menthol head and ive heard great things about this stuff.

It's straight up menthol in glycerin gel.

Not super cold.

I use it more to add to other actual after shaves.

Is there a scent?

Menthol has its own scent. So, yes. It does smell a little. Barely though.

It's not as strong as Bengay but is similar. In fact I've used it on my trick shoulder before. It can be a little tacky by itself if you use a lot in any one area.

It's nice stuff.
A tiny little bottle when you see it in person.

I used the first tube straight out of the tube, rubbing it on my face. It's an excellent mentholated after shave balm. After I started using Superior 70 mentholated after shave splash I have been dissolving 1/3 of a tube of 444 in the bottle, and also adding a good supplemental dose of menthol crystals. One bottle lasts me 6 months of daily use, and I can feel the balming effects of the 444 every day. I think I've use 4 full tubes of 444 and have about 6 more ready to go.

I love this stuff. Been using it for about 9-10 years. It was Leon from Portugal (vintagescent) that hooked me up at the time. I drop a peanut size of 444 in the palm of my hand, a splash of Aqua Velva, rub it all together and on the face it goes. Refreshing and effective. Great stuff.

I got some of this a few years back. I didn't like it and it never found its way into my rotation. To each their own.
