Maggard Razors SHD bulb in a Klenzo handle

I felt a tingle of temptation. This badger knot is outstanding. I recently set some knots in 2 other Ever Ready Handles, trying my hand it a simple restore/reknot (the Klenzo shown above was very nicely restored by Freddiep318ti. My attempt was just removing the old not and cleaning the handle up. Freddie gets them all polished and shiny, practically looking like a new handle!). The knot I used in one of those handles is too floppy. When I checked my notes and found that the knot above is the same size I'd need, I soon found myself inside Maggard Razors. Realizing my danger, I hit escape and closed that window! Whew, that was close!

That is one stunning restore Eric. Also kudos on escaping the siren calls of shopping. I'm having similar difficulty. Since I'm 5 months in now, I won't feel as bad... But it'll still suck. Lol.

Hope you can stay strong as long as possible. Be well!

Just like that, I'm out. I really wanted to replace a knot and I'm finicky as the day is long. I have been looking at one of Phoenix knots and I decided I really should try it. It was a small purchase, but I definitely broke my restraint. Five months is a good run and I'll probably stop after the travel soap for another 4-5 months. Maybe around my birthday I'll treat myself again.

Hang in there folks. You got this!

Great shave bro! Glad you're enjoying the handle! Smile

That's a long run in my book, Paul. I think I made it 4 months few years ago. Five months is better than before, right? Chances are really good that you have broken the "I gotta have it NOW" way of thinking and are settling into a more realistic phase for acquisitions.

Thanks Eric. Five months is a HUGE improvement for me. I hope you are right. I really dont want to slip back down that slope, chasing after stuff I don't need (and sometimes even want, shockingly enough).

That's said, I'm quite excited to get the knot. I had been "diversifying" my brushes over the last few months. I reinstated a few knots I had in the extra bin. I also got two new ones for Xmas. So, this is the last duplicate: a second 2BED. Not that I don't love the 2BED, I just think if I'm going to have more than 2 brushes they might as well have some minor differences (as long as I like them).

I spoke with our contact over that Phoenix, who thought I might really like the knot. I initially gravitated towards it for the look... I want my brushes to be aesthetically pleasing (go ahead and mock me. I'll wait...). This one seems to fit the bill. Mind you, this is only a crude mockup... The knot is still en route. This is something I could subscribe to.

I was not aware of this and have already bought a couple of items this year, but I'll join up now and hold off for as long as possible. I certainly don't need anything shaving-related for the next few years. Big Grin

Thanks, it's nice to know that there are others trying this out.

In fact, I really need to go backwards and lighten the den a bit. I've been thinking of doing that for a few months now but have made no progress yet.
