PS. I don't sweat button alignment with the dot or anchor. It really makes no difference. The adjustment is fluid with no positive clicks/stops. There is a very low probability that you are going to get the exact same setting time after time. Load a blade, tighten til it stops, approximate setting from there.

Let's see a picture of the medallion. If it is an MC, it should have a number.

The serial number is in the Medallion? Never looked there but I will.

So bottom line it is what it is and it shaves great so overlook the little issues and enjoy the darn razor.

Yep. Your alignment with anchor may be off a little. It could just be the thickness of the blade. I don't see an issue.

And the Sailor logo looks just fine too. Stop trying to find stuff wrong with it and enjoy it.

There is no serial # on the razor. Is that something that has to be requested?
Sorry guys for all the questions, I’ve been pretty much out of the mix for various reasons.

That looks pretty damned good to me.  Is Sailor to the left?  If it is, you have to lay it flat and seek it out.  It looks like the middle of the I and L are centered on the head.  I don't know where the center of the logo is but center of I and L makes sense to me.  The S is capitalized, hence larger.  Maybe the big S is pulling the eye to the left?  I dunno.  I would run it.

My thoughts exactly but needed to check with the guys in the know on here just in case, but I’m good to go. And your right it may just be the blade thickness. I had a Feather in there and if I’m not mistaken their very thin. I’ll try a Polsilver just to see if it changes anything just for the heck of it.

If anyone was still hoping to get one, Murat just restocked his website with both the 2022L standard and MC model. He also told me a shipment will be going out for US distributors in the next 2 months.

I’m really intrigued by this razor.  Heard it’s fantastic.   But it’s tough to drop that much $$ without giving it a test drive.

Wondering what razor(s) you would compare it to.   Also - are they easy to sell used it for some reason it’s not a fit for the buyer?

The answer to your question is there is no comparison to any other razor. Out there. The main reason is the full spectrum of the available adjustments. They will take you all the way trough these efficiency/aggressive/effective ness levels listed below, an I cannot think of any one razor that can. I’m going to use the word efficient below for ease of words.

Mildly efficient
Moderately efficient
Efficient
Very efficient
Extremely efficient
Uber efficient

So at the highest settings it leaves any other extremely efficient/aggressive /effective razor behind that I’ve ever used and I’ve used more than a lot. In my 20 years in traditional wet shaving.

So bottom line, the Rocnel Sailor is a whole lot of other razors rolled into one!
Are there smoother razors with less blade feel when comparing to different settings on the Sailor? Yes for sure. Are there more maneuverable razors than this heavyweight? Yes.

If Murat would build this razor in Titanium for me it could be a reason for me to eliminate all the other razors in my den. Not saying I would but I’m just talking about the shave.

I’ve had 3 Sailors and sold 2 and not lost a dime. With that said I can’t predict what the market will be like today or tomorrow.

Just my 2 cents on the question.

A very reasonable set of questions.
I can't think of a single razor to compare Sailor 2021 MC to....the smoothness with which this razor shaves (especially at lower settings)
is greater than the Wolfman razors IMO. Sublime.

Efficiency wise, I used to favour monster gaps...but with this razor, I get world class shaves at setting 2.
I have no explanation for this. It gives me a result where I can shave every alternate day.

The only thing I sometimes worry about is that this razor is not built like a Rolex...I think the term they use
for how its assembled is Pressfit. It is conceivable that after a few years of use, the spring might get loose
or similar...but I am determined not to let these small niggles interfere with my enjoyment.

I would add dont fret if you dont want to spend the extra money on the MC version, unless your a collector of these razors. I gave into my desire last year and bought the MC after really loving my 2021 standard sailor, there was 0 difference in the shave and the quality was great with both. I endes up selling the MC 2 months later with 0 loss.

I agree that if this razor was made in titanium I could potentially get rid of every other razor I have.
