A 3-passer on 6, 3, 3 and it was sublime.

This razor is what I’d call “gentle”; it feels like I haven’t even shaved. The blade feel was definitely there on 6, but there’s no sign I’ve used an aggressive razor.

Shaved with the '21 set on 9 today. It was so sweet

I had maybe 10 days growth. I took the Sailor on vacation but refused to use it. Ha! My beard was at least 1/4" long, which I discovered is a great length to map a beard and there be no question about direction of growth.

Setting 9 was a very nice shave. It doesn't get any more fun than a lot of growth and a crisp blade edge, for me. I enjoyed it so much, I ran 4 full passes. No nicks, no cuts, no fear or being cut really.

Great shave. Great gear. It's good to be the king!

A question for anyone who’s used the 2021 Sailor for headshaving, what was your experience?

I’ve been completely unable to get along with the 2021 Sailor on my head from the lowest setting all the way to around 8. The efficiency is there at even the lowest settings but after the first pass I’m unable to clean up the remaining stubble without ravaging the skin on my head.

I didn’t expect this razor to be the greatest head shaver but I also didn’t expect that I’d be completely unable to use it for such.

While I’m giving unpopular opinions, I still prefer the 2019 Sailor due to the increased blade feel and it’s ability to shave under my nose more easily. I also find the 2019 ill suited for headshaving but not as much as the 2021.

All that being said, I still can’t wait to try the Sailor in titanium as I think it’ll be perfect incarnation of the Sailor design.

Can’t explain why it doesn’t work for you but the 2020 and 2021 work fantastic for my daily head shaves, even when twice around the dial no issues with my skin. Daily use is between setting 3 and 6 for my head (have some battle scars there but no problem with the sailor, guess I must have found the optimal angle)

Thanks for chiming in, I’m glad to hear that you’re getting great shaves. It could very well be that I’m not used to the shorter handle and I just need more practice holding the proper angle. I’ll definitely try any pay better attention to my angle and see if things improve.
