2021/22 Rocnel Sailor Adjustable

I've been using the Ti Tiaga for the past couple of weeks. Spectacular razor. Silky smooth and efficient. Now time to move on to the Sailor for a comparison. Life is good.

Mine arrived today.

The unboxing experience never disappoints.  Love the soft touch shell of the case, and the plush interior.  Nicely done.

Was quite taken back at how trimmed down it is compared to the 2020 S.  Way lighter and nimble, but the density and energy is unmistakably still there, signature of Rocnel.

Was somewhat surprised at my serial number, #163.
Looks like business is going well for them.  Murat deserves it.

Weighing in at 139 grams, it is 43 grams lighter for me, versus the 2020.

I'm not sure if it is because of my higher serial number, but without a blade, the two dots line up perfectly for me.  Odd thing is, the lettering of the top cap is aligned forward with the dot, so this is different.

Haven't shaved with it yet, perhaps tomorrow or next day when I get the chance, I want to give the proper attention it needs to have a great shave.  Very excited indeed.

The actual weight of my 2021 is 134 grams versus 182 for the 2020, so the difference of weight is 48 grams (to me this is significant).

As for the stand, no it is not from Rocnel (though I wish it was). It's a cheap one I managed to get sometime ago for another razor. I'm not sure if I can post links, but you can get one from the Yaqi store at AliExpress. It is made of aluminum and is very shiny.

Ooooh! I have that Yaqi stand!! It was designed for the Yaqi Adjustable. I bought it thinking the diameter if the peg would work for my Taiga (spoiler alert - it doesn’t so I put it back into the box) . I guess if I ever am able to acquire the 2021 I’ll have a stand that works pretty well. Thanks for the info

The only minor gripe with me is the lettering on it, otherwise it's not bad, you can't really see it anyway when you place it behind the razor.

Valid question. I handed my 20 to my old man and kept the 21 for myself. 20 is a little smoother but the weight trade off is not worth it for me as I like to use mine often. Sex appeal and uniqueness of the 20 should be considered as well
