2 band for face lathering

Hi guys. I am looking for opinions on the best 2 band brush for face lathering. Was thinking Shave Mac, Paladin or Thater but open to all suggestions.

I haven't used most of the high end names, but IMO you cant go wrong with a Stirling 24mm finest bulb. Its my favorite badger for face lathering and a bargain

Paladin brushes are predictably consistent and excellent for face lathering.  The Shavemac two band silvertip is a VERY close runner up.

Thater, while nice, lacks the degree of backbone I prefer in a face lathering brush.

I have my eye on a few Paladins. Also Elite razors has a few I like. Might take me a little while to decide. To tide me over until I make a decision I just ordered a Duke 2 in Best. Sigh. Decisions.

Thater and Shavemac use the same knots all provided by Shavemac. Their Silvertip 2 Band is very soft and a great performer, the knot itself isn't super dense so it splays easy but if you're looking for backbone try something else. They also have the D01 which is a very dense but can be scrubby I haven't tried this knot so cannot fully comment on it. They also have a Unique 2 band which sits between the Silvertip 2 band and D01. I have one on the way that I will review when I get it. The one good thing with Shavemac is that you can get a knot set exactly the way you want it through the customize option or just emailing Bernd directly.

Paladin is a consistent performer and the good thing is they have notes of their knots on their site so you can go after one that you like. I will say that the 26mm is very dense and splaying can be a little tough at times. I do prefer their 28mm knots they splay better and are not overly massive which is nice retail they are expensive but on the secondary market you can snatch one up cheap. I would suggest researching their knot notes before going after a Paladin so you can find the best one for you.

M&F is another option, the knots can be a gamble on what you get exactly but from what I've read and tried the finest is a softer tipped knot where the blonde is a scrubbier knot. Density can vary on the knot set but I've found the blondes are quite dense, my finest isn't very dense but it's a unique case of that, I do have a second finest on the way so can see if it's better.

There are several other options out there, it's kinda overwhelming really but with top performers they are all great but do have their own unique qualities to them.

Brushes are like soda. There's lots of good ones and what is considered the best by one person for certain reasons would be good. What would be someone else's best or favorite will be different.

Everything is personal preference.

All the brands and two bands I've seen mentioned and discussed are worthy candidates.

The rabbit hole lies in finding out for yourself what you prefer above the others.

It's difficult to say for certain that I will have the same tastes and preferences as you or anyone else.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for different things.

But unlike soda, brushes of all types can be shaken without fear of explosion and usually are not sticky when dried. Excessive use of brushes also should not contribute to high blood sugar. Brush flavor tends to be more badgery and soapy than sodas. But I agree, different mood, different brushes. I mostly bowl lather and finish on the head and face. My Shavemac 2 band silvertip is awesome! I have a TGN 2 band finest that is a little less backbone with softer tips. Like it too.

I am pretty sure Thater imports their own lots of badger hair and ties their own knots. I do think that most know Thater buys handles from Bernd.

This would be an impossible task to tell you which 2-Band would be best, for you as you'll have to decide on that.
There are so many possibilities, at the moment.

What is your budget? Do you want your knot to have strong or medium backbone? Do you want a scrubby or soft feel to your knot? How large of a knot do you want?

There are so many elements to consider when choosing a brush.
