There are people whos word is taken as the word of god simply because they have posted one or two you tube shave video or product reviews.  Ive seen some youtube videos of guys "showing" their sons how to shave for the first time. Those videos really suck the most.

The things I have learned from shaving videos are rather simple.

1. its best to shave a few hours after your morning shave, to make a shave video.
2. Its best to shave without a razor blade installed so as not to cut yourself.

Sir, your posts reek of Troll.

Indeed. Bunch of videos I watch they show loading a blade and this seems to imply if one doesn't cut yourself every shave your not shaving. I haven't cut myself in months. Nicks are a rare occasion. Also my face gets scratchy after like 5-6 hours so I shave every day to get a smooth feeling but it doesn't look like much hair

Clearly you are speaking without a clue as to the validity of that which you speak.

Almost every shave video I have made, I stress the fact that I am a beginner.

Almost every shave video I have made was made in the evening, during my normal shave.

It is really difficult to shave with a traditional cutthroat razor without a blade, and using one that is dull is WAY more dangerous than one which is sharp.

What really sucks the most are people that don't know what they are talking about exuding such authority on a subject. Take, for example, every post you've made here. You have shown that you haven't a clue how THIS FORUM operates, and you have shown that you really don't think much of anyone but yourself.

I'm done with you. You're a waste of time and space.

if you enjoy watching someone shave/review products, then watch it.  if you get bothered by what someone is doing with THEIR channel, then turn it off...simple!
I do, and it is the same reason that peeps on some other forums bash YouTubers.  The sad truth is that the whole forum-YouTube-blog wetshaving ecosystem is as much about doing battle as anything else, and has been for over a decade.  People love to fight.  Most unfortunate, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

it is a shame, indeed. youtube helps bring a lot of people to our little niche.

Youtube videos can teach you what NOT to do while shaving. It can teach you bizarre things. Theres people who make shave videos, that well don't even know what razor they are using. Seriously, if your going to do a video, make sure you know enough to call the merkur 34c in your hand a merkur 34c and not a FUTUR.

Yeah, some videos could use a little editing before being uploaded to YouTube. From what I have seen, they are relatively few compared to the overall number of wetshaving videos. Disregarding the those involving a donkey, what shaving videos are showing bizarre things? I can see how people might get annoyed with the ones that amount to thinly veiled product ads. A little critical thinking on the part of the viewer can separate the douchebaggery from the wheat, though.

Props to shaving YouTuber's from me. I have a tech review channel myself and that can be a bit time consuming I could only imagine the awkwardness of filming yourself shaving. I respect anyone who can do it honestly. Besides it's way easier to quarterback from the couch than from the field right.

what's the channel you run? being an IT professional myself, I'd probably check it out... send me a PM if you'd rather not share it publicly!

It was the mobile tech guy though the channel is having a slight overhaul at the moment. The new name is LevelUpLifestyle is should come up under either name. It's more about mobile technology like phones etc.

I watch several YOUTUBE efforts on several subjects. I doubt many of these folks expect Hollywood to come knocking, checks in the mail or the opposite sex sending erotic photos.
Some of the production values are pretty bad. I have yet to watch anything where I didn't learn SOMETHING, if only what not to do. Mainstream movies are rife with glaring mistakes and no few bombs even by big names. Anyone catch the sequel to Water World or League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? Jessie Ventura was once asked about the vulgarity of T.V. Wrestling." If you don't like it, change the channel." DUH

They weren't gentlemanly? Wink

But if people did that with wetshaving videos, they wouldn't be able to come to the forums and throw an online hissy fit.
