Your thoughts on OneBlade

I've read a bunch about this razor and my head is spinning. I have an extremely tough dense middle eastern beard and would love to try this thing out. I've had all sorts of trouble with shaving for my whole adult life. Cartridge razors do not work for me at all. DE razors have been getting better and better but there is room for improvement.

Has anyone actually returned it pursuant to their 30 day return policy.

I'm curious about the 30 day return as well.

I haven't seen anyone report returning the razor, based on the various OneBlade threads I've kept track of on various forums.

Nor have I. Have not seen any refurb offers either, which, if they did have returns would think they would extend unless they'd rather sit on them for the time being.

My fear is that it won't work for me and I will be out $300. I question others who say they have a thick and coarse beard because there are very few people who have a beard like mine.

IMO,this razor will work for you. Also there is no risk involved,they have a 30 days money back guaranty,no questions asked. I haven't heard of ANYONE
returning it on any forum I am on.--Trust me,try it.

As you can see, there isn't much irritation there. All cartridge razors I've tried fail at giving me any kind of acceptable shave. I used top of the line electrics for the majority of my shaving life, until August of 2014 when I bought a merkur 34c. Took me a while and a lot of trial and error, but the last few months my shaves have really improved. The ATT H1 and R1 are what I use now. I take care of my skin with kiehl's products, and nuavia has really taken my shaves to another level. Why would a SE or the oneblade be better?

As an aside, I've had numerous barbers tell me to just grow a beard. I tried a "straight" shave at a barber in NYC and the guy couldn't shave my beard. He essentially gave up.

BeardFace, your whiskers remind me of mine! I won't claim to have the coarsest whiskers ever (it's hard to know what the range really is), but they're definitely pretty coarse. Sharp, rigid blades have worked best for me, thus DEs that add rigidity (Wolfman, NEW, slants), or SE razors with their thicker blades. My skin is also more sensitive to irritation and nicks, so a mild razor is also important to me. The OneBlade is a mild-shaving (as in, non-injurious), effective SE razor. A thick, single-edge blade presented just so, for a close, non-damaging shave. I actually think for those of us with thick whiskers and sensitive skin, it's just the thing. Plus, you do indeed have 30 days to try it risk-free. Something to consider.

If not the OneBlade, due to cost, perhaps look into other SE options, or sharp-meets-mild set-ups like a DE89 or Tech (or Feather AS-D2) loaded with a Feather blade.

I've done a lot of reading on this razor and there was only one mention of not keeping the razor as they thought it was too mild. I have only seen one for sale on another forum.
I think you're safe, the guarantee seems ironclad as long as you stay within 30 days and you're going to know long before that if it is not for you.
