I wish DE blades came without wax spots.

I realise they’re there to hold the blade inside the paper envelope but they make a mess of my DE razors and it’s a PITA to clean them from the gluey wax.

My favourite DE blades, that comes without wax spots are:

KAI

Personna Platinum (Made in Israel)

The new German made Personna Platinum unfortunately comes with wax spots.

What are your favourite DE blades without wax spots ?
Cheers, Claus from Denmark

Vintage Gillette Spoiler, or Schick Platinum. All my newer favorites have glue spots which really doesn't bother me. Lately my razor of choice has been my Schick L- Injector so no glue spots there

I don’t like the wax spots, but I’ve mellowed on them. I know they can gum up a TTO, but I don’t have a problem with them in 3 piece razors. I always load them with the wax spots toward the base plate (away from the face).

I admit I’m not a fan of the new-style packaging of the GSB, with glue spots moved to the center. That’s mostly because it makes removing the blade from the wrapper more difficult, and I don’t want handling a double-edged, extremely sharp blade to be difficult.

My answer for favorite blade without wax dots would have been the true Israeli Red, but that ship has sailed. The NOS market has dried up.

I do also like the Bic, especially in a mild razor, but it isn’t an all-rounder.

German Wilkinson Sword, but the dots on blades don't bother me.
Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

It's like the blues, the best stuff comes from dead guys.

Personna Lab Blues. I remove the wax from the others with a Curad alcohol wipe.

I've never had any issues with the wax spots with blades that have them.

At the moment, I'm using the Israeli Personna Platinums, so the glue spots aren't an issue.

I think I have about 800 of the Israeli Personna blades.  I did the math and at my current usage, they should last about 26 years.

I have the German Personna blades, and while they are sharp, they are not as smooth.

I just run very hot water from the tap to get most of the wax melt away usually after a couple uses it’s gone.

I've avoided that because of the Do Not Wipe warning on the wrapper of teflon-coated blades. Would it actually remove the teflon? No idea. I doubt if the alcohol actually damages the teflon per se, but there's still the age-old question: "How do they get teflon to stick to the pan?" (Steven Wright I think).

'do not wipe' warning is for the edges and not for removing wax which is on the surface of the blades.
