Have you ever had a razor that you bent over backwards trying to like? I did. I have been nursing my feelings toward the Ikon Short Comb razor, but am close to giving up. I find it very uncomfortable which I thought may be due to its level of aggressiveness. However, I have used other razors of similar aggressiveness without the discomfort and without the weeper or two.
I think I have finally found out why it is uncomfortable. The teeth are somewhat pointy. Not the two large teeth at the ends, but the ones in the middle. More pointy than the Gillette New short combs which are the inspiration for the Ikon variant. I have both and can see a difference. I'm not sure about what causes the occasional weepers, but I think the discomfort problem may be solved. Too bad, I like Ikon and its contributions to the shaving community.
How about you? Ever have a razor that you really wanted to work for you, but eventually couldn't?
