I could never get along with the well loved DE89. Just didn't do it for me and actually after I sold it I didn't revisit DE razors for a while since I figured it was either me or that DE shaving wasn't all it was fracked up to be.

Hmm, it's crazy how much YMMV with shaving. My first razor was the Muhle R89 and it got me hooked on DE shaving, so there you go. Hope you found one you liked!

The DE89 from a Fusion was a few steps backward for me. And the multiple passes I needed to do to accomplish the same task left my face unhappy. I moved on to a Cobra Classic at the time and that was the efficiency I needed to get me excited again. I now have a ATT Atlas R2 that will mow down anything in its path pretty easily so my aversion to DE was short lived.

I have to admit that I love looking at my Pils. And although I've only shaved with it a few times, I just haven't gotten used to the weight distribution.

Fine Slant - too light and aggressive for my skin type

Pils - Beautiful razor, but I also couldn't get used to the weight distribution and thin handle.

I hear that a lot lol. Sounds like you stuck with it and found what you did like though.

The R41 was one that I tried to like, but could never get a comfortable shave from it. I got close shaves, just not comfortable ones.

Ikon Shavecraft #102 Slant. Never could get an irritation free shave from this one. Tried many different blades, angles, you name it I tried it. I'm getting ready to put this one up on BST

Parker Variant. The head was too bulky for me. Balance wasn't right for me. When it comes to using an adjustable, the Merkur Progress short handle is my weapon of choice.
