I saw that but it does not open up a selection for the geometry until you make other selections so I stopped before seeing it. At least others will now know and not stop before proceeding further.

Next to add to cart it says "In stock ready to ship" but when you scroll further down it says custom razors 3-5 weeks. I am going with 3-5 weeks and not expecting my razor any time soon.

it's only a $5, but charging for no logo on the top cap. Dislike.

In the email i received from Yates it says they are still going to be making a new titanium razor, they are giving early access to anyone in the waitlist for the new razor to this custom order process for the current design.

Also I was given a code in my email Im not sure if that has anything to do with wait times for orders. I didn't order one yet I'm thinking I'll wait till I at least see the new design.

I had been waiting to buy a Yates 921 razor for several months now but had been waiting for the BYOR option to go live to see what my options were. By the time Friday rolled around (when BYOR went live), I already had decided that I wanted the stock 921-M in bead blast finish with the original handle. I decided to go with that option and added the H and EH plates (and used my first time buyer discount by subscribing to the Yates newsletter). That worked out cheaper than going the BYOR route with only the M and H plate (and I could skip the 3-5 week wait). I was fortunate that all of those items were in stock with the finish I wanted.

How comparable is the BYOR in titanium to the Blackbird ti? I’m asking because I am considering buying my first expensive (to me) DE. The Blackbird is out of stock and the BYOR titanium is available and can be built for slightly less. Am I comparing apples to oranges here?

Can't say as the titanium is not out yet. And to add mystery the ti 921 now comes with an open comb. The 921 also gives a choice of aggressions related to base plates.

You can now order a head only in BYOR by unclicking the handle option for those who wish to use their own.
