I understand the bead blast (tumbled) came out as satin with a little shine nothing like the stone washed finish so I think you should have less drag if any at all. I am waiting for the bead blast finish in a complete razor including the new EH plate.

I currently have the bead blast finish, and I used the stonewashed during my time in the pass around. It's tough to say for certain without having them side by side, but I haven't noticed any significant drag using either finish.
Personally I prefer the bead blast finish, but it's just an aesthetic preference for the satin look. It's very nice in person.

Thank you slantman and jbreakfield for your help. I may very well add a bead blasted head to my growing collection.

Shavemd  How do you explain that the (brass) Hybrid plate (assume only SB portion of course) is more aggressive than the (stainless steel) M plate since they have the same gap/exposure numbers - they are the same except for the metal and DC feature ? I am not questioning the OC portion as it is not fair comparing the Hybrid OC to its equivalent SB. My experience suggests that the Yates plates all perform at a more efficient level than their stated gaps without any loss of smoothness which is its "super power" being smooth yet quite efficient.

When I was ranking them, I was including the OC side of the hybrid as a step up from the M base SB.  I would have to do a side by side but My memory says the SB side of the hybrid is identical to the M

Just for completeness I would put the Merica razor that Yates makes for Wet Shaving Club is slightly milder than the M plate but very little different results.

Well, I wound up getting the YPM H plate. Reason being, it's pretty much a wash between that and the Lupo .95. And I'll be able to get the EH plate in a couple of weeks.

Thank you, all of you, for your input!!

Lots of stuff back in stock on the Yates site, so I picked up the hybrid plate and the H plate. Looking forward to trying them out next week.
