Razor: Yates Precision 921-H Plate (V2 Top Cap)
Blade: Wizamet (2)
Brush: Eric Sorrentino Orange Crush/Cashmere
Soap: Lakewood Soap Smokeberry
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Skin Bracer
Fragrance: Penhaligon's Endymion
After trying another razor for a few shaves and then returning to the Yates razor yesterday it reconfirmed that the Diamondback was going to the BST. Today's shave with the new top cap solidified that decision for me. I have a fair number of razors in my den both modern and vintage but can't justify the amount of money tied up in a modern when another does the same job, again for me, at half the cost. At first pass with the new cap I wasn't sure there was necessarily more efficiency but there was still the smoothness and it actually helps find the shave angle even easier. Not that that was any problem before but it has taken an easy shave and taken it to near mindless now. After the shave and while writing this now and feeling my face I have to agree with Mark
Shavemd that the efficiency was improved as well. I then realize I hadn't thought about the fact that I got today's results with less effort and strokes too. Yep, Yates has a winner here for me. I will miss the shine and cool factor of the Diamondback but as far as results I will still have them in the Yates 921 razor. Looking forward to upgrading as Jake gets shiny ones out too.
