WSP Formula T

Ruds Shaves gave Wet Shaving Products Formula T a score of 77, which I think is unfairly low. In my ratings, I would give it an 85, which would mean it is an average soap. It certainly does not match the performance of the best premium artisan soaps out there, but it is not priced like a premium soap.

WSP does a good job with many of the scents. Some of my favorites are Blackbeard, Gaelic Tweed, and Olympus.

I agree in that it's an "85". The "T" formula did nothing bad, nor anything spectacular. I had a 1 oz. Ol' Kentucky tin that I traded away. The scent was almost non-existent.

It may not be "premium" priced but $22-26 still isn't on the low end. I can think of a few soaps that are on par or cheaper cost wise but perform a lot better than WSP.

When I purchased my Formula T soaps, they were $15. I think they were under $20 until recently. 
The current price on the WSP web site is $21.99. Maggard Razors still has them listed at $19.99.

I know that supply chain issues and energy costs have impacted the costs of many items. However, unless the Formula T recipe has been improved to enhance performance, I consider $21.99 to be too expensive, even if you consider that it contains 4.7 oz vs the typical 4 oz tub. Once you get above $20, there are lost of great choices The ingredient list for Formula T is the same as my soaps purchased several years ago.

I agree. The ingredient list seems pretty basic. I put $22-26 because for some odd reason the Bay Rum scent is $25.99.

I just saw the price hike and no longer think these soaps are a good bang for your buck as I had stated above. Too bad as I like the scents I have tried and the soaps are serviceable. I also think the small metal tins are a PITA.

I think the Formula T is a great performer. I would say well above average, and very close to the top performers in my den. I've never minded the tins, as the ones that Lee uses don't seem to allow any rust formation and they are thick enough to be somewhat resistant to damage.

I agree with the comments about the price increases, though. It was a fantastic value back when it was $15.99. I hesitated a bit more when they bumped it to $19.99. Now it's up to $21.99. They're local for me, and I like to support local businesses, even if it means paying a bit more. When it means paying a lot more, I might start reconsidering...
