Nice reviews Gus. I wish I could just get the handle to use with my Yates 921.......maybe down the road.

I do like the handle very much. Great grip and tactile feel, though I find it just on the shorter side for my tastes. Not a dealbreaker though as it balances out quite well. And for having some weight, it feels like it shaves and maneuvers quickly around one’s face. Maybe the handle only option could be available some day. I’m putting a couple more shaves in, just pm me if you want a first hand dive & drive with it. Can get out to you by the end of the week, Dave.

Happy shaves brother....

[Image: RvPG6tL.jpg]Received my razor today from Wet shaving club loaded up a permaSharp blade ( Perfect alignment ) no overhang of the blade tabs over the baseplate but like the YPM top cap there are indentations that easily allow you to push the blade off the top cap when done.
Handle 3” long and 65 g
Baseplate 15g
Top cap 15 g
The finish is similar to my 921m stonewashed and looks great. The handle has circular groves that provide excellent grip and there is a magnet at the bottom of the handle to pick up your blade.
Used my Elite Bloodstone handle with a Declaration B6 knot and Lathered up my ETHOS lavender lickity split into a wonderful shiny cushiony lather that provided excellent slickness and the scent is the best lavender I have used.
3 pass WTG, XTG and ATG and I had a very smooth irritation free BBS. Granted I only had 24 hour growth but it was a very pleasant shave. I played with the angles and found if you ride the bar (Steep) you increase blade feel and a comfortable 30-35 degree angle the blade was there but minimal.
If you prefer a milder razor and shave daily like I do this razor gives a very good to excellent shave that is very comfortable. If you prefer large gaps and efficiency to get a 2 pass BBS I would move on.
As someone who has been using YPM razors for over a year now I would place this razor just slightly milder than the M plate but it still delivered an excellent 3 pass BBS.

2 shaves in with this razor using a PermaSharp blade and it gave me another smooth, easy 3 pass BBS shave. The second BBS lasted about 12 hours before I could feel stubble coming back along my jawline. Very impressed with this razor and I really like the handle. It easily screwed on the new top cap from YPM but did not fit well with my older one.

Just received mine today.
First shave with an Astra SP.
This this is mild feeling, so smooth and efficient.
Slightly more mild than the 921-M.
Perfect weight and balance.
I can whip this thing around my face and head.
Probably the perfect razor for me.
Will it end my RAD?
I'm thinking/hoping yes.
I'm literally going to clear my den and only keep the Merica, my 921-M, and my Lupo DLC.

Can those who have a Merica compare its efficacy to other razors? Thanks

I'd put it right there with my Lupo DLC.
Feels mild, but is pretty efficient.
Shares the same shave angle as the 921-M.

Oops.
Sorry.
I meant more mild.
Edited my post.
