I still haven't seen the price point for these. I did hear that it uses that same size nib as the mini. I much prefer the larger #6 nib on the full size Vac 700 so I'm not sure if I will pick one of these up now.

You guys are putting me on tilt- these, both new and old, are so very cool! I mentioned to Freddy that my first pen [Kaweco Sport] arrived late this past week. I was a bit sidetracked with some work and home chores over the weekend so did not get to experiment as of yet but will dive into this world some time this week.

I am old enough to have learned cursive in school but use a "hybrid" on a daily basis. I actually Googled some cursive examples to refresh as I could no longer remember some of the letter patterns.

Great collections to those who have shared- beautiful instruments.

I took a nib and stuck it in a stick.

Then I wrote my first letter with it.

The pen worked fine. Does anyone else here use a dip pen?

alphege, I do and I enjoy practicing with it. I'll post photos later. I'd love to see a photo of the dip pen you made. Smile

Mike (fancontroller), TWSBI's ink bottles are ingenious when tied with their pens. I believe they have a couple of different models to go with some of their pens.

Kevin (kwsher), I am looking forward to your thoughts using the Kaweco. The Internet has a wealth of information on fountain pens, dip pens, inks, paper, calligraphy, and day to day penmanship. Of course, there is always our little corner of the Writing Instruments world right here at DFS. Wink

Yes, I've been watching the Goulet Pens video on this and Brian there explains how, although it's suited to TWSBI pens, it can also be used to fill International Standard converters or just about any pen by using it in different ways. I want one now Smile

I love the Goulet Pen site and have purchased a lot through them. Besides being a commercial venture, it is an amazing resource for all things dealing with many modern fountain pens and their accouterments.

Here are my dip pens and my attempts at using them.  I haven't practiced in a while and really need to start again.

First I must experiment with my computer. I will learn how to take a picture.

The pen is a cost cutter. It should be amusing.

I'll return later with a photo, hopefully.

My hand made dip pen.
It's a black felt brush pen from Flo-Pac.
It was almost empty of black ink.
Take a pen knife and remove the rear stopper.
Put in some cork.
Then put in a nib from some German company.
It's a fine point pen, and it writes at least three paragraphs.
