It is very similar to the WR2, but the thing I like about the BBS1 is the top cap is a lot thinner.
BBS-1 left, WR2 135 Ti right
The thinness of the top cap makes the whole head light...which makes the BBS1 more handle heavy. I prefer the WR2 for that reason. I had a BBS1 and a .95 WR2 and ran them side by side. I could not tell much of a difference...other than the balance thing. Both were far too mild for my tastes so they got sold off.

I must respectfully disagree with my esteemed colleague LOOT here. I currently have both a .95 WR2 and a BBS-1 and I find the .95 to be much milder than the BBS-1. To me, the BBS-1 feels like it fits somewhere between a WR1 .80 and a .86 or like a WR2 1.35.

has anyone here tried a .75 and a .95 gap and can compare the two? I'm guessing .85 is not a large enough difference. I get really nice shaves with the .95 but it's too aggressive for daily shaving. I don't want to lose the efficiency, just add a little more comfort.
I’m assuming you’ve tried your .95 with different blades? I can usually dial my shave up or down depending on blade choice. For example- Feather Blade to dial it up a bit, GSB to take it down a notch. Beautiful Razor, congratulations.
Yes I've tried all my favorites at this point, including wilkinson's sword. To be honest I don't think I can tell the difference between blades. I think I can feel feathers being a bit more efficient and I remember thinking dorco and derby's sucked for whatever reason.
These days I mostly use feathers because I like the packaging
Today I tried the WR2 with a personna lab blue. Nice shave, similar to when I used a feather blade 2 days ago.

I have similar results with my BBS-1 as well. To me it most closely resembles the shaves I get with my WR1 .80 and WR2 1.35. I always use a Feather blade with my BBS-1.

Sharpologist has a big write up on the BBS-1 and claims in it that James designed the razor around the Feather.
(EDIT) Just re-read the linked article and it doesn't mention the BBS-1 being designed around the Feather blade. So I either read it somewhere else, or dreamed it.
I don't know if that's correct, but on rare occasions that I've used mine it has been with a Feather, or a Gillette Swede.
Its not my favorite DE, but I think it is a cool collectible, and it is a very good shaver.
