I was away when my 1.55dc shipped in July, so I didn’t pick it up until yesterday.

1.55 dc, wrh1, 100mm. Basic polish. I did notice that the underside of the top cap has some marks on it. Not a big deal since I’m planning on using it a lot, but different from other wolfman razors I have received.

The handle is hefty and awesome.

Shave had noticeably more audible feedback than my 1.25oc, but didn’t feel like it was going to slice me to pieces.

Used the oc side for first pass, then closed side for across and against the grain.

I did nick myself on the neck, but that’s probably because my lather was a little weak today

I liked it. I don’t know why I’d use the wr1 .86 anytime soon

Also, after using a blackbird on the road for all of July and most of August, the wr2 1.25 seemed much more efficient. May sell the blackbird now

The WR2 1.05mm arrived yesterday and was used for this mornings shave.  Used a GSB and the shave seemed a little rough (ie not as smooth as I was expecting).  However, there was no sting with the alum block or the AS so it was probably a technique issue or the blade.  Looking forward to figuring out the issue.  BTW, walking out the door with a super smooth BBS shave...so definitely not complaining!

I don't have much luck with GSB. The Polsilver and Astra SP work well in the WR2.

second shave with the 1.55dc. I used the SB side today, with the same Kai blade that I used the first time

i cut the shit out of my neck today. no idea what happened, but it was a bloodbath. I haven't done that in years.

I'll try it again, but maybe the 1.55 needs a little more growth for me

When I had a 1.55, I had to use as steep an angle as possible. It was pretty smooth that way, all things being relative of course. If I went shallow, it started getting scarier, always left my face raw, too much for me.

GSB wasn’t ever great in this razor for me

Thanks guys for the "GSB" comments. That's actually my favorite blade so, just a little bummed it didn't work well here. I'll probably switch over to an Astra SP tomorrow and see how things go

Hey guys. So I'm on the waitlist for the WR2 probably going to get just the head. Not sure when my turn is going to come up but I'm considering going for a dual gap. Perhaps a .95/1.05 or .95/1.15. are there any cons to going for a dual gap? Also how would those compare to the tatara masamune and haircut & shave co. N075? Thanks! Can't wait for it.

If you’re only planning on having one, I think a dual gap is a good choice. My first WR2 was a DC with two gaps. That’s when I thought it would be my only one. Eventually, that plan changed (dramatically) and I started favoring single gaps. But if I went back to owning a single WR2, I’d consider getting one with two gaps.

Obviously a matter of preference, but for me, DC is only nice for testing and finding which gap is best in half the time. Now I know the gaps I need, single gap is the only way forward.
