No sir, not to me. I've used all of the gaps and owned all but 1. They are all very smooth. Blade feel increases in a relatively linear fashion, as does efficiency, but if you could eliminate those two variables, the smoothness is pretty damned stable....on my face.
James; would it be fair to say you Gents that prefer higher gaps are trying to get that perfect shave with the least amount of strokes and passes as smooth as possible?
Well....im not a daily shaver so variety in gap is kinda fun to play with on different lengths of growth. If I was a daily shaver for work...or if shaving was just a task I needed to move through the quickest, efficiently would definitely be the top characteristic I'd be after.

The vast majority of the time, I do 2.5 passes no matter what razor I use. This allows me to autopilot and not really care about my beard map. I know 2.5 passes will get all of the hair WTG, XTG, and against leaving me BBS.

BBS duration is also a major reason I like to play with big gaps. Crazy how long some of these razors will leave skin stubble free.

They only charge extra if you’re in Texas

Hi Drew:

Hope this helps...I paid for my newest build on Oct. 2 and today is Oct 27th and no confirmation for shipping.

Mine generally take 5-6 weeks.  This round being no different.  I always take full advantage of my turn, 2 handles, a stand, head, various polish grades.
Oof that's quite the wait. My buddy who lives in the same state as me(Massachusetts) got his in a couple weeks, that was a few months ago though. My buddy in canada got his a couple weeks ago and that took around a week after he paid. Could the wait be due to you getting the extra stuff with it? If you're getting all of that though it's definitely worth the wait anyways lol. What's 6 weeks compared to the many months ahead of that. Thanks for the info! I haven't gotten my shipping confirmation yet either, I wonder if it's too late to switch to UPS shipping and get it faster!

My philosophy is take full advantage of your order. You’re probably correct on time with mine as mirror and satin polishing to jewelry grade standards can take a little time.  And remember, the election isn’t over yet so we still have COVID-19 roflmao.

Whatever the wait, like yourself, I’m like a kid in a candy shop with a $20 in his pocket! Waiting on one of DuFours hand tools never gets old (for me anyway)

That's a pretty good philosophy. Considering the wait might aswell make the most out of it. Can always easily sell what you don't like too and get to try out a variety. If i get on the waitlist again and grab another in the future I'll definitely do that. Thanks for the intel! For sure, I'm beyond excited to try it out. I had a Mirror Polished WR1 .61 WRH7 before I bought on Craigslist of all places. I wasn't a fan of how it shaved but the WRH7 handle is super nice. Decided to go with the WRH2 this time around cause it's straight up sexy. The basic polish looks almost just as good as the mirror polished to me based on video but could be different IRL. We'll see!

Well it is not as good as the mirror ... but it is plenty good. If you have both you can see the difference, but if you look at the basic by itself it is quite good. I think for my next one I'm going to go the $50 upcharge per piece for the Brushed Satin. I have one in that finish and I really like it a lot.

Mirror Polished WR1 is long gone but I'll try to compare by memory. Really excited to admire the craftsmanship once it lands here. Really love how the WR2 head looks, and also find the side tabs to hold the blade to be neat vs using blade posts. Also learned recently that the BBS-1 is based off of a weishi 3 piece tech clone. I find that to be absolutely hilarious the holy grail of razors that goes for $1000+ on the secondhand market is based off of a $5 pot metal generic razor, therefore the WR2 is too. Hahaha. And for sure can't go wrong with a nice satin finish. I usually prefer matte finish on razors like the karve, tatara, silversmith but for the Wolfman I felt like it would be a sin to pass up on the polish. Although if I ever get a second one I'll definitely try the brushed finish. It looks superb for sure.

I wish that the gaps were printed on the razors. How do you guys keep them apart and remember which is which?

I agree I'm not sure why they're not etched onto the razors although I swear I saw a pic of a WR1 with .61 engraved on it. Perhaps it's something you can request? Especially if you we're to get a dual gap razor it would make it easier to know which side you're using.

My heads are handle specific. I know the gaps by the handle. You can also look at the safety bar thickness as they vary with gap. Dual gap heads are usually done so the W in Wolfman on the bottom of the plate points to the larger gap (I'm pretty sure).
