Yes they are.

Sent from my LG-US998 using Tapatalk

Overall they are slightly wider, when I placed them on top of GSB's but the tab is smaller.

Wouldn’t the smaller tab explain the issue? I enjoy Kai blades, but I’ve not used one in my WR2...

All the blades I’ve used in my WR2 fit like a glove. You might try a different blade, as has been suggested. James can’t engineer airtight blade-fitting for more than one form factor. In my experience, Kai is the only outlier.

You think so? I just purchased a 100 pack of them from smallflower too.
I just checked my Kai. Not only is it wider a the cutting edge, it is also narrower at the tab. My Kai wiggles just like yours, but when I dropped, not placed, the blade on the cap and assembled the razor, the blade was aligned perfectly.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the blade or head, you just happened upon an oddity no one else seems to have picked up on.

As I find Kai a little buggy at times, try a Feather in that 155. Much better combo, imo. If you dont have any Feathers, PM me an address and I'll get them out to you pronto.

Good on you for the observation.

I do have feathers, thank you very much for your offer. I will try out that combo tomorrow.

Where did you source those Kais?

I made my most recent purchase of them from smallflower. I have a couple packs that I had purchased from maggards as well.

I had a similar blade alignment issues with a BBS-1, which uses the same blade alignment mechanism as the WR-2. That was probably the biggest reason I didn't like the BBS-1 and why I haven't been eager to get the WR-2. I found that with a number of blades that I liked, there was some play in the blade alignment. I always had to eyeball the exposure on both sides to make sure the blade was even. I found the alignment bars down the center (as in the WR-1 and pretty much every other modern razor) to be much more reliable.

I enjoy the simplicity of blade loading in the WR2 and have never had an issue ...but this is a great example of double checking things if they don’t seem right. Thanks for sharing that as it could have led to a bad day for someone.

Just loaded a KAI in both my WR2 1.25 and 1.55 razors and noticed the same thing...blade alignment is not even from edge to edge. Then dropped a Feather and Gillette 7 O'Clock black and both are perfect. Thus...it seems to be the QC on the KAI blades....inconsistent.

Sitting here wondering if those same blades would line up on a razor that's got the pegs or the bars to the center of the blade, just a guess.

Tried a few KAI blades in my WR1 .86 (with pegs in the cap). The blade seems to line up better (evenness on edge) than with the WR2. The problem may lie in the blade tips of the KAI and how securely it sits in the head of the WR2.
