The Ti brushed finish is nice however I would have liked my Ti razor to be shiny.

I think you'd be happy with the Ti basic finish as it's plenty shinny. Here's a side by side photo of my High polished WR2 Ti DC 1.25/1.35 with HR7 handle next to my newer brushed WR2 Ti DC 1.45/1.55 with the HR2 handle and unless you are looking at them both with a magnifier it's really hard to see the difference because his brushed it that good.

Awhile back in this thread someone posted that they were surprised at how shiny their basic razor came out. Like me they thought it was equivalent to the more costly mirror finish.

IIRC they told James that in an email, and he responded that he can see the difference. I also felt the finish was near equivalent to mirror upon first impression.

I was looking at my basic polished/matte SS more closely today when cleaning it following the shave. On the underside of the baseplate I can faintly see machining marks, maybe polishing marks. The surface is shiny, and the marks are apparent upon close inspection, and turning the plate at an angle to the light.

I still think it is a beautiful razor, and the next one will be basic also, but instead of polished/matte, I'm going polished/textured ... just for variety. Probably see it in about a year.  Rolleyes

I’ve owned Wolfman Razors in both Brushed and Mirror Polish, but neither of the basic finishes. Both of these finishes are stunning, and it would just be personal preference on which finish you preferred. I’ve not held a basic finish, but based off of pictures I’ve seen there’s no doubt I would be able to see a difference between basic and mirror polish. That being said, I bet Mr. Dufour’s basic polish is probably nicer than 95% of the razors out there’s finishes.

I find the Ti brushed to be a superior finish that is on par with SS satin brushed.
Ti just looks a bit like apple's space grey while the SS has a silvery hue.

I don't see where they offered a polished/matte or at least in those exact words.

What ? You want me to be exact ?  Tongue

Actually ... I'm what they call dyslexic. I have pulled that drop down menu a hundred times if I've did it once ! I can't seem to recall the order of options 10 seconds after I read it ... for the thousandth time.

This is what I ordered/received -

WR2 -SB Razor Head (Blade Gaps 1.55mm) (Polished Basic/Textured)
WRH3 Handle 90mm Solid/Standard (Polished Basic/Textured)
WRA1 Stand (Polished Basic/Textured)

Turns out the other option was "Brushed (Basic/Matte) I've tried to take a screen shot of the drop down finishes menu, but it can't be done ... at least not by me.  Rolleyes

Well was just going off of your statement about what you would take for your next one. I wasn't sure.
Sorry about the dyslexia. I don't think I've done dyslexia I just get confused about all of these polished matte brushed titanium stainless steel satin textured.lol  Then we have the different handle models with different weights different lengths . Oh but hollow or solid, hmm who could get confused when typing about one or the other.

Simply looking at the reflected Wolfman logo, the one on the left is clearer, to my eye...but that is your brushed? Did you mislabel them?

In any case, your brushed is much cleaner than any of mine. You got lucky. DuFour spent some extra time on it.

Just got this WR2 1.35/1.55 SB. Basic polish is outstanding!! This one was a trade from a fellow forum gent that bought this for his Dad. His dad thought it was too aggressive for him after one shave! Great trade!! I did not submit my order until September 23rd so my number may not come up for several months. So glad I had some great stuff to trade for this one. I would love to trade this Darwin Handle for a longer Wolfman Handle. I will probably put the handle up on BST after the weekend.
