Just got the 1.15 DC WR2 Head
First impression is this is the perfect gap for me. WTG, ATG 2 pass BBS after 2 days of beard growth. No nicks or irritation. I have been able to try the WR2 .95 & 1.25 and I think this one is just right. Will need to do a side by side with my RS10 but this was a very smooth and efficient shave.

Need to hear your comparison of the titanium RS-10 and this.

Right on brother. +1 here. The 115 is the cream of the WR2 crop for me. Congrats on that new razor. Keep us posted on your thoughts. More opinions is a good thing. Can't wait to see it mounted on the Darwin.

I had a small epiphany recently regarding the troubles I originally had with the Ti WR2 DC 1.25/1.15. That razor arrived just as it got cold in New England. Prior to that, I was getting great results with my SS WR2 DC 1.15/1.05 and Polsilvers. I used the same blades in the Ti, and got good results, but not as comfortable of a shave. I switched to Feathers and the shaves got a little smoother and more consistent. I tried my milder SS WR2 with the Polsilver again, a combo which I knew worked for me, and got less than optimal results. It wasn't until I picked up my Feather DX non-folding razor that I realized what happened.

The razors worked exactly as they should. My skin and beard were the problem. I guess the cold had really dried my skin out and my beard, which is normally coarse, felt coarser than ever. As tight as my Wolfmans hold a DE blade, they are not as rigid as a Feather Super Pro, which slices through my rough beard with relative ease (especially when the blade is new).

So...I had to modify what I was doing to get the WR2s working again. At the moment, I'm only using Feather blades and very rarely am I using a blade more than two times. I've had to be a lot more precise with blade angles and I have been babying my face with the GD preshave and always a balm afterwards.

So take my previous Ti reviews with a grain of salt. The timing was weird and I (wrongly) attributed some of my problems to the razor, not realizing it was my face reacting to the climate. It's super cold now. I might need to use a scythe tomorrow.

You're killing me here lol. Glad to hear you have such good remarks though. I'm hoping I can find a 1.15 in a trade for my 1.05. The 1.05 is great for me but just a tad more efficiency would be perfect.

Not a wr2 question but can anyone help me with this one? I didn't think the gap was ever stamped on the bottom of the plate like this. Was it? If so when? Different metal than ss?[Image: jtESXBc.jpg]

James would do that upon request. I had one engraved like that, in exactley the same position

They weren’t engraved unless you requested it. I had my .74 engraved with a dial turned up to 11 to tell it apart from my standard gap
