Hello Gents! Hope your weekends are going well. I placed my order on September 7th and I’m in a pickle as I can’t seem to decide between the SB or Oc and 1.15 or 1.25 or 1.35 gap. My Favorite razors that I use are the Blackbird, Timeless Ti.95 Sb/Oc, Tatara Nodachi, Karve Sb D/Oc C plate, START 1.18 and the Gamechanger.84. I would like my future Wolfman to have the Smoothness of the Timeless.95 or Nodachi with being more efficient than the Blackbird. My priorities are BBS with smoothness over aggressive/efficiency, good for daily use or every other day use. I have Sensitive skin with thick coarse Greek beard that would be equivalent to Velcro lol. My problem areas/ extra touch-ups are the goatee & and jawline areas. Very important aspect of the future Wolfman would be ATG pass, if its smooth and efficient ATG than its perfect. I would most definitely appreciate your insights and recommendations from you Fine Gents. Thank You in advance DFS.

Quick edit: This is my Christmas present from the Wifey. I chose this over a new IPhone, WAYYYYY BETTER IMO.

I’m going to take a stab at this my friend based on your statements I’d say for the smoothness and efficiency level you are looking for I’d say go DC 1.25/1.35 but definitely go with the SB on both sides or kick it down a notch with a 1.15/1.25 SB. Just my two cents

Others may offer some better advice but your in the eleventh hour so I’d get your order in if you want it under your Christmas. Tree!

I just placed an order and I had trouble deciding as well. I asked James about exposure and he said that it’s neutral on the 115. I assumed that would not be enough blade feel for me so I ordered a 125. I don’t have it yet so I can’t offer an opinion, but maybe knowing the exposure will help you with your decision. I was going to get an OC, but there seems to be a strong consensus for the SB in the WR2, so I ordered the SB.

I would suggest a 1.35 out of the choices you mentioned. I have a 1.55 and always shave ATG and it's very smooth! I still can't believe how smooth it is every time I use it lol.

Congrats!

I enjoy the Karve D plate and use both 1.05 and 1.15 with success. I use the 1.05 for daily use and 1.15 if more time between shaves

For me the 1.15 SB delivered pretty much the same result as the blackbird SB...while being smoother than the T95 SS and much smoother
than the BB. So when the 1.15 settled in, the BB was sold.

Given your sensitive skin and specific efficiency requirement, I would recommend you look at 1.25SB...if you hadn't
mentioned sensitive skin I would have said 1.35

I prefer the simplicity of solid bar with one gap.

Thank You So Much Dragonsbeard , Dayman , shaveSymptomatic , Kehole , Tester28 .
I really appreciate your recommendations guys!! After all your great advice I’m leaning towards a DC 1.25/1.35 SB. This will serve me well for all 3 passes, I think.

Good choice DC is like having 2 razors In my opinion and let us know how it works for you.

I think that is a good combination. The 1.25 is smooth as silk. I also think you're on the right track in choosing the higher gap in SB.

Since I have a few DCs I've noticed that when I use a standard SB or OC I tend to use one side for the WTG, and the other side for the ATG ... just from force of habit gotten in habitually using DCs.

JimmyH Thank You, means alot from you guys giving me good advice.I have strong confidence that this combination will work out. I will probably end up doing the same thing, use one side for WTG and another for ATG.
What shaving angle do you guys tend to use with your Wolfmans?
