Anyone know the answer to this? There is no waiting list or way to order on the website only a survey and social media (Twitter) has been dark for three plus months.

yes he is still working, he just recently increased his prices. He occasionally adds stock items but once or twice a year opens his list

I was able to score a Wolfman a few weeks ago and just received it. To my knowledge James will put available stock up on his site without any notification. I just happened to hop on the site and see he had stock available. This will most likely be my last Wolfman due to the recent price increase.

TheHunter does he no longer do custom razors? I’m sorry the razor handles and heads he has as “stock” on his website, to me, are pretty plain and uninspired for that asking price .

steeleshaves to my knowledge James has never made any “custom” Razors. I know he will adjust the blade gap, that he will make the Handles longer/shorter, that he will engrave what you want on the bottom of the base plate, and that he will make the Razor out of a list of material options on his website. I’m not aware of any Razor manufacturer that does full blown custom Razors for sale, where the Head and Handle design are made to the customers request. To my knowledge this has never been something that James has offered, I can’t imagine something like that would be very cost effective. If you find his head and handles plain and uninspired, there are plenty of other options out there, many for much less. Hope this helps.

TheHunter when I said custom I meant picking the metal and the heads from his listed materials on his website. I have never seen his copper razor for example as a "stock item" yet it is listed on his website as an option. Seems like whenever he has items in stock they are the same handles and heads all the time no variety.

James has been doing this for quite some time.

There is no question that he accommodates certain individual requests for some as has been illustrated in the various forums with the different razors shown to us by members, for the past few years.

steeleshaves I understand what your saying now. When I placed my order it was under the “Complete Razors” section, and I had the option of choosing from Aluminum, Stainless, Brass, and Bronze, and then I was able to choose Brushed or Polished finish. I couldn’t tell you how people are able to acquire the other materials listed on his website, but as Celestino said above, he seems to accommodate certain people as you see these Razors in these materials on some of the forums.

I have seen the certain AKA same people showing their Wolfmans on the forum, we are talking Titanium, bronze, Aged Copper AKA the ones that are most expensive. To me it looks like these people are frequent purchasers, probably $2000 per year. These are his faithful returning customers so it make sense he makes stuff for them without them signing up for a list.

I remember around 2 years a go I luckily made on his list and when time came around to make my choice for the razor I backed out because new razors were popping out with more options, much better prices + CNC machined too. I now know I made the right choice cause I was going to spend $500 on 2 SS Wolfman razors, now 1 razor cost $400.

Too many new companies are coming out with gutsy ideas, gutsy designs, much better bang for your money. We have seen that a $130 Wunderbar fit and finish is yet to be beaten by any company out there that charges even $400-$500 for their razors that's including Wolfman razors. High polish means nothing at the moment, what matters now is the gutsy moves some companies are making like Razorock, Rockwell, Rocnel, Razor Emporium, Supply Provision, Janusrazors ( to be decided)....

There is so much competition going on that eventually all the high priced 3 piece razors will only be able to sell to their faithful fans. We see so much innovation, new designs, great prices at the moment and last thing on my mind is spending $400 for a 3 piece razor. To each is own but my money will be spend towards something different and not on a high polish 3 piece razor that will dull in the first year.

If you really want a Wolfman razor follow him on Twitter. Without notice he will post that there is stock available. You have to be very quick, because they sell out fast. From what i understand, there is no inventory. You get to add the options you want and he makes it to your specifications.
But very few razors are allowed to be purchased, so it's a mad rush once he tweets they are available. I opened a Twitter just for this reason. I have landed two razors in the last year. Unless you are on the list, this is the best way to get a razor. He has not opened the list in a very long time.
