Well, I was #2 on the list, and it turns out I'm not actually on the list.
I managed to get an OC head and WRH7 handle from what he posted in stock, so I did luck out in the end. I was considering getting this handle with the SB head in stainless anyway, so maybe it is for the best that I wasn't selected.
This will be my first Wolfman razor. I use an ATT S1 now, which I really enjoy. I completely understand the challenges James faces, and I'm happy to be getting anything.
I still don't understand why he didn't select the first 40 on the list if he was originally intending to close it at that point. Leaving it open for 15 minutes and randomly selecting is a fine approach to me as well, if that is the expectation you set ahead of time. Hopefully, he is able to refine the process next time.

It sounds like the reason he didn't go in order is because he doesn't believe that the order is accurate due to a software error. 94 entries in 2 seconds does seem suspect, although I did select join wait list immediately. I'm not sure what to think, but with that context I can respect his decision.

I don't see the confusion. If you have 94 people all joining the list at exactly the same time (i.e., the instant they can) wouldn't you get 94 entries in 2 seconds? What is suspect? Am I missing something? Is there any surprise to anyone that this is what happened?

It sounds like everyone is surprised, except maybe those who got a slot. Wolf Whiskers already went through this same exact things, except I think he had even more people sign up. He still went with the names in order. I think his new method is much better. He no longer announces when he is opening his list, and instead you just have to keep checking his website. His list still gets full as far as I can tell, but not in 30 seconds.
