I was able to get on the WW waitlist today so have a couple of months - but wondering if anyone has experience with Peter's knots versus just getting the handle from him and sending it to Scott @ declaration to put one of his knots in?

Thanks!

Peter uses Maggard badger knots - the SHD were not released the last time I purchased a brush from him.  I don't have a vast degree of experience with the Maggard knots, but the Declaration knots are hard to beat, especially with such a nice handle.  This is all dependent that the latest batch and that it has the characteristics you enjoy in a knot.

I had a 26mm Shavemac two band Silvertip put into my last WW brush and it's fabulous.

Thanks - that's helpful - I see he does use Maggard knots - I agree - if I'm gonna work on the design of a brush to keep, makes sense to put a good knot in it!

I think the wait is close to three months and a little.
Worth it for sure.

Another interesting knot to consider is the Manchurian from elite razor.
Gel tips, I gather.

Thanks - ShaveMD also recommended the Manchurian from elite - I'll look into that!

the DG knot is really, really nice.

but ultimately to me what makes it worth the price is that it's got super attention to detail. if you are expecting a transformative experience you will be disappointed. I have other knots I think are pretty close from Black Eagle and Paladin that cost me less and didnt have the long wait.

Id like to try that Elite Manchurian, myself, but I own double digit badgers so Im not in a hurry.

Yep - I do like the DG knots ... I actually picked up a dogwood handle in today's drop - will put a DG knot into that, so I need to think hard about keeping my slot in the WW waitlist.... still may be worth it, just need to think about it...

thanks for your input!

Dogwoods craftsmanship looks great...plus the 10% off on Decl. knots doesn't hurt either.

I completely agree - here are the 3 dogdec brushes I have plus the one I ordered today...

I have an Elite Manchurian and a Maggards SHD arrived in to day's mail.  Here's a comparison shot.
I have no experience with DG knots but I expect they must be mighty fine to be in company with these two.

The knot on the right is perfectly;y shaped.  The camera angle caused the lop-sidedness.
