Battle of Britain Hurricane pilot Flying Officer William Lidstone “Willie” McKnight is a legend in England yet scarcely known in Canada, even in his home town of Calgary. McKnight was a fighter pilot in the Battle of France and the Battle of Britain with 242 (Canadian) Squadron of the RAF.

I love the painting  Happy2 well done on it.

Hi Alan,

Any history books that you would recommend on the Battle of Britain or aviators of the Second World War?

Looking it up now! Downloaded the sample to my Kindle. Looks exactly like what I wanted!

In 2014, after reading some books on British history, mainly kings starting with the Norman Conquest, I started reading about the First World War (100 years since the start). And I have been trying to learn more about the Second World War for the last two years or so, but I haven't made as concerted an effort. Thanks again!

It’s my pleasure Eric I had opportunity to be in ww2 birds to fly in them and yet tour in Germany visit historic places and been to Auschwitz few times.

I think seeing things in person makes you see things with your own eyes and realize what went on and history of ww2.

Glad you’ll like the book  Happy2
