Gents,

I acquired one of these cheap plastic razors, and some single blade cartridges along the way.  I was browsing around a different forum, and some guys were claiming 10-20+ beautiful shaves with the Wilkinson Bonded Shaving System, which I believe was the first cartridge razor introduced to the markets in the late 1960s/early 1970s...about the same time the Wilkinson New blades and The Blade (Light Brigades) were hitting the markets.

The timeline matching that of the New blades and Light Brigade blades is what really got me interested, and so I purchased 120 cartridges in case my hunch of the performance being similar to the legendary blades was correct.

At any rate, I used my first one today, and it was a fantastic shave!  The razor itself is plastic, and feels cheap.  However, it and the single blade cartridge, delivered in a BIG BIG way!  I found it to be every bit as sharp as the Light Brigade and New blades, but this initial shave was more smooth...absolutely incredible.  The razor is intuitive, and very simple to use.  If I can get 10-15 shaves out of each cartridge I will consider this a serious win.  I am excited to see how the cartridge/blade evolves, and will report back every few shaves or so.

I liked the shave so much I went into eBay, and bought two back up razors since it feels cheap to me, and another 66 cartridges.  I figure with all the other shave stuff I have, that will be more than enough!

My last thought is that if anyone wants to try a Light Brigade/London Bridge/New blades, but hasn’t because of scarcity or price, perhaps these are worth a try.  They are readily available on eBay, and they are inexpensive compared to what you would pay for a Light Brigade blade!

Beautiful three pass shave with no weepers, no redness or irritation, and no need for a touch up...BBS.

Sure!

Last night I was assessing the overall quality of the initial shave several more hours after the fact, and I came to the conclusion that I needed a few more of these razors and blades (after all...they are inexpensive compared to modern carts and Light Brigade blades, they are readily available, and they aren’t being made anymore!)...so I found a really nice deal on eBay for 6 razors, each with a five pack of cartridges.

Second shave with the Wilkinson Bonded Shaving System...I am going to go out on a limb here, and  say that the last two shaves have been the best I have ever had...using any kit at any price point!

It went through just over two days of growth like it was nothing!
