I have loved whitewater my whole life. grew up guiding on the Middle Fork of the Salmon here in Idaho. But with all my river miles the Main Salmon permit area through the Frank Church wilderness has never been on the menu. Decided to change that this year and my made a week of it this August. Just me and my kid brother (young 45 years old) I've always taken a razor on long trips and this one is no exception. Shaved with Salmon River water, Merkur 34c and CRSW Jeffs Soap. never even thought to take pics of any lather but here are a couple river pics from our 90 miles of bliss anyway.

Lovely and I hope both of you enjoyed the trip. It is always wonderful to get outdoors and be in nature. Smile

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Great pics. Two questions:

Did you fish or was this a rafting trip only?

How long does it take to cover 90 miles in a raft?

I love to fish but took no gear on this trip. Had other things on ,y mind and I already fish this river both above and below where I floated. As stated I had never done this river and being late in the year the water is low meaning harder to make river miles. I found 20 miles a day would be easy even at low water so I won't be afraid to do this trip in a long weekend (4 days). I did it this time in 6 days and would have had tons of time for fishing. As it was, I'd set time aside to visit a coup,e of friends places in the canyon and do some side hikes and sit in hot springs.
