Wickham 1912 soaps

That is funny!  That is exactly what my wife said, I didn't think anything of it at the time.  I have since cracked open the Russian Leather in my stash and it looks the same so I'm pretty sure that's normal.  I have a total of 2 with their new scent cashmere and a full tub of cola (I bought a sample) on the way.

So all is good.

Can you describe Russian Leather please? I read the scent profile and think I'll like it, but I also am interested in a couple others. I would buy all three but I have bought too many soaps lately.

Big fan of the old Super Smooth formula, so I need to try the 1912 at some point. Parma Violet sounds appealing to me … well, they all do, who are we kidding!

I'm absolutely terrible for notes but if you compare it to say the PAA Tombstone which is a heavy overdone dirty leather and gunpowder, this is on the polar opposite end of the leather scale. The soap is a bright, clean and almost floral but it stops short of that. It's almost like the leather scent lingers on the edge of the scent. It is there, but does not take over the scent, it complements. Let's be clear, it is not a weak scent, just bright and clean with a slight hint of sweet and very masculine. After Tombstone I was pretty convinced leather was not for me, but the Russian leather has changed that. It is a well balance full scent.

I have Tombstone and actually like it a lot. I wasn't sure the first time I used it but it quickly grew on me. I don't care for a new car leather scent which I thought it had at first, but then I started noticing the gun powder and other notes which round it out nicely. I just bought the matching AS from Shave Revolution actually to go with it.

I was thinking Russian Leather might be a darker scent like Leviathan which has Russian Leather in it, but obviously is darker. You described it nicely and thank you for doing so, but I may have to go with the Citrus Musk instead. Thank you.

My pleasure. I had Leviathan also and Russian leather is on the opposite end of that scent. The Citrus Musk...I can't stop smelling it, it's that good. Musk rounds out the citrus nicely it's a winner in my books.

Russian leather is the exact same scent as the Super Smooth Sheridan's.

Sheridan’s is a scent I really enjoy, but I find it interesting that Russian Leather is that same scent. I say so only because Russian Leather is supposedly modeled after the Imperial Leather soap. Granted, it’s been years since I’ve used Imperial Leather, but I don’t recall it being quite the same as Sheridan’s…

I guess I could be wrong. I just got rid of the Sheridan's and the scent is still in my nose. It's unique. I just contacted Wickham's and asked about the scent. I will report back what they say.
