I resigned from one of the most popular sites as they refuse to make 'stickies' and day after day after day it's the SOS such as "Personna Labs vs. Med Preps" or "Are Personna Reds any good?". The modern Internet poster is a lazy slob at best who refuses to do a Search and expect everyone to wait on them hand & foot not realizing that 99.99% of FNG questions have already been asked/answered countless times. Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I banned myself from one of the, if not the largest shave sites on the 'net when they tried to shake me down for money. Back then I was just getting started and had none to spare. They had a message posted that said basically if you have a problem paying let us know and we'll help you. I suggested that I pay over a period of months. Their help was in the form of, " Pay up or get out.". I banned myself, yet I'm still a member over there. In the last 4 or 5 years I can count on one hand the number of times I've been there and most of those have come from google searches.

The other site that I'm banned from was/is run by one of the rudest women on the planet. She makes shave products also and the site is basically advertising for her business. I'd had enough of her and the site and told her how rude she was in private. What a surprise... I was banned. FWIW, there are no other manufacturers on that site. I'm fairly certain that I can go back there anytime I want (I tested it), but why would I? OK, the members of the forum are good folks, that would be the only reason.

I quit going to one of the largest sites years ago, which I suppose is a self imposed ban. My credo: either inform or amuse me and the environment had become more drama and less content. Not for me.

I currently frequent two sites. DFS and another. The other is vendor sponsored and I have had good experience and interaction but I know there are many individuals whom I both appreciate and enjoy interacting who have been banned. For many if not most I couldn't tell you exactly why.

Net, net. I like the environment at DFS.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned here as a reason for being banned is if the user commits serial fraud in the B/S/T forum. The one time I was a mod (over at another forum) we had at least one of these guys who we banned for the safety of our members. That's legitimate, as far as I'm concerned.

I like one or two other sites, but because of their affiliation with vendors, I mostly keep away from them now. I've not had any issues with any site, so my self-imposed alienation from them is more because of a comfort-level than anything else. I like being here. Big Grin

I stopped visiting one of the other shave forum because they banned my favorite artisan. Never even cared to ask why, I just left.

I left one of the other forums because they banned me....twice

They also banned Gary Young, Will and Joe, so at least I'm in good company.

Never actually understood why I was banned. I didn't break any enumerated rules that I know of and I tried to contribute to the community as best I could.

Ah well. The circlejerk is strong with those folks anyway. I wish the parties responsible the best, so long as they stay the hell away from me.

The internet ego of some of the, "old guard," surprised me at other places. Yet I'm 45 years old and have been doing this much longer than some of the, "old guard."

Go figure. I chalk it up to there are some real fing dooooooshbags on the internet with way too much time on their hands. Reddit comes to mind, but hey, I don't want to name any forums. Ooooooops lol.
