Unfortunately, two more samples just got thrown out for me.  I tried Merchant of Tobacco and Project leather yesterday.  So I started lathering up Merchant of Tobacco (after getting tons of chocolate off of the sample) and I found it didnt change much.  Unusually, my wife was in the room as I was lathering and she was catching a whiff of this and hated it just like I did.  Its chocolate, with tobacco underneath?  She couldn't get over the chocolate and she loves tobacco scents and she kept expecting more tobacco like I did, only we just kept smelling chocolate. Just what my non educated sniffer picks up.  

Next up was Project Leather, and....I didn't detect alot of leather.  This was unfortunate.  The scent was sort of a bright, weird off-putting scent I can't really describe.  It almost smelled medicinal to me? It was really one of the strangest scents I've experienced in shaving so far.

Neither one of these samples got shaved with after lathering.  

So sadly at this point, I have ONE soap in this new Donkey Milk base: Man From Mayfair.  I've tried Project Leather, Merchant of Tobacco, Monaco Royale (skin irritation), and King of Oud (skin irritation).  

I have to say though, that many of these scents are just not for me which is unfortunate.  Hopefully I'll find another scent or two of his, obviously i'll eventually replace my vegan Fougere Bouquet with the new formula, but right now when we are talking $25 to get one of these donkey milk soaps, I'd rather spend my money on scents I do not yet have. It is such a shame for me because this is without a doubt the best performing soap I've ever used.  I just can't seem to get anymore of it.

I find their base amazing and most of their scents totally unappealing. That said..their new Lav Sublime is fantastic. And I’m anxiously awaiting the April 20th release of their simple, single scents...a coconut  as well as a grapefruit. I also like their Man From Mayfair..

Mate, pull the trigger on the Lav Sublime. No way you don't like it and if you didn't easy to trade on the BST. Fern Concerto would be another that I'd think you would like.

I'm right with you on which scents don't work. Tallow and Steel gets the same knocks for scent. Great base but fickle scent acceptance.

Hi shevek , I think you are the only fan of Cuero Oscuro! If it were my list I'd switch Cuero Oscuro with Fern Concerto. And then add the following to the Keeper list:

Chypre Rose Concerto
Lav Sublime Concerto
Dark Vetiver
Yuzu Rose Patchouli (duh)the collab with Chatillon Lux

I can't say on Dances of Agrumes because I missed that one. If there's any I missed I'll edit later. Needless to say, I really like Wholly Kaw soaps and love almost all of the fragrances.

Anyone take a run at the three new offerings today? I went ahead and picked up the Grapefruit, Coconut and the Rose Concerto. We will see how it goes.

I went in for the Coconut. I like citrus...but....I’m not a big fan of grapefruit...so I’ll wait for some reviews. CRC is a re-release from last year. Not a big rose fan myself. Between Lav Sublime and Coconut I’ll be set for for spring and summer. Too bad they didn’t do a balm for Coconut.
