Gents,

I really really like this soap and aftershave splash combo!  It does smell like the damp grass after a storm rolls through, and the aftershave smells slightly better than the soap.  This combo is a winner, and the post-shave feel is impeccable.

WK’s Siero Base is amazing, and it is a fabulous soap to use with a straight razor...superb in every category.

I broke my rule of not purchasing soaps in the hot months, to get this set, and I just broke it again to get a second set!

Thanks Dan!  Check out the honing progression in the straight razor section...most beautiful edge I have used to date.

I enjoy petrichor scents but this one didn't unseat FG for me and I unloaded it early on last year.

WK is a wild ride for me because scents like lav sublime, fern concerto, fougere bouquet and rose concerto just hit scent wise but then to me at least you get duds like king of oud and Cuervo oscuro. While I like alcohol based splashes his hits like an alcohol bomb much like PAA and Fine which I don't enjoy as much.

So yeah, wild ride.

While you consider King of Oud to be a dud, some consider it to be a masterpiece scent.
I do not go so far as to consider it to be a masterpiece, but it is one of my favorite WK scents.
Scents may be even more YMMV than razor blades, if such a thing is possible.

I agree on all points and why I don't try and comment on others reception to scents.

For me those scents don't hit. For the others like you mention above it may be their signature scent of all things.

Allot of guys enjoy Sauvage but I'd take Fahrenheit over that scent all day every day.

Matt you’re going to need to release a photo album one of these days of your lather shots...

More Kudos for you Matt, both on the kit and the lather.

In the Siero base, I have Fougère Mania, Entropy Man, and two jars of Rebelle, my favorite.  I also have two jars of Fougère Bouquet, both jars being in the older, pre-Bulala and pre-Siero tallow base.  I have tried other older WK soaps, but like jaxstraww, the scents range widely to my nose, from thumbs way up to way down.  OTOH, aside from performing splendidly - even better than the earlier tallow base - the Siero soaps have ranged from delightfully fragrant to at worst, passably pleasant to me.  Nevertheless, I have thus far decided to pass on Denarius and Tempest, and scent concerns are among my reasons.
