Brut is a great classic scent for sure. There are a few artisans with Brut type scents, but the performance of WK mixed with a scent similar to Brut sounds like a wonderful combination. Unfortunately it's all sold out at Maggards.

Why not just order it directly from the WhollyKow website?

I could, but I don't live far from Maggards so I can go check it out in person. It has saved me a lot of frustration in case I don't care for the scent.

Sometimes I have picked up soaps that I wouldn't have ordered based off scent description, but have turned out to be some of my favorite scents.

Lucky - I've said it a few times that if I'd been able to sniff every soap before buying it my soap collection would be a bit smaller. Well, maybe it would be a bit bigger but I know for sure my box of unloved products would be smaller Big Grin

The only downside is sometimes the puck smell and the lathered smell can be quite different, For example, WK Man from Mayfair smelled very strong on the puck...but, the lathered smell was considerably lighter and very pleasing. Had I just smelled the puck I might have missed out on one of my favorite soaps. With the more sophisticated scents these days the puck smell doesn’t tell the whole scent story. You just smell the forward scents..after lathering...it can be a very different story scent-wise..

Yeah, I too have found that a lot of soap scents are very different once they touch water.

Yes I realize how lucky I am to be able to sniff soaps and aftershaves in person. It does kind of make my taste lean tward more complex and unique scents. You also get a chance to see some of the sililarities between artisan interpretation of scents, some are so close a blind test would be difficult.
