I read on another forum where Clapton was asked how it felt to be the best guitar player on the planet and he said, "I don't know, go ask Prince.". I have no idea if it's true or not.

things im hearing from people say they do think the pain killers had something to do with it (i can NOT confirm that myself just what im hearing) there are also people who saw him pacing outside of his local walgreens looking very agitated waiting for someone to come out with his prescriptions. he did have major hip and leg issues since before his surgery in 2010 where he had hip replacement. many times he could be seen walking with a cane due to this. and it has been confirmed he was given narcam at the airport then brought to the hospital. and because he could not get a private area he left to head home against doctors wishes within 3 hours. they wanted him to stay for at least 24 hours.
according to prince (told to me by the person who i spoke of who knew him well) that quote is true. again just what i am told. when i was at the studio with them he was an awesome guitar player as well as almost anything else. he played a ton of different instruments. that day was incredible. ill remember it forever!!
whats crazy is i knew people at his "dance party" he had at paisley and they said he looked great no one thought this would have happened.
I can still remember sneaking into a movie theater as I was underage to see an R rated movie when I was 14 just so I could see Purple Rain. Really gonna miss his talent.

my friend who spent a lot of time over the years with him said he knew he was taking pain killers for sure but had no idea of this extent. i can not say is this is true or not but here is the story (it is not written by my friend)
