George Wostenholm IXL Celebrated 6/8 hollow

Last shave with this big girl was disappointing, after several that were fantastic, so time for a refresh. Took her back to 10k, and then finished up on a Belgian coticule under trickling water. Back in beautiful shape, providing an outstanding, clean shave!

Used my Frederick Reynolds 5/8 stub tail wedge tonight. I am still surprised by how nicely this razor shaves. Warps and all, this hefty ol' girl straightened right up, and took a clean edge with a little effort.

I had one of the best shaves ever today. Feather AC. Kai MG (the Kai version of the Feather Proguard) on its third shave. Haslinger Coconut soap.

What made the shave so great is something I read in this forum. Wish I could remember who posted it. The idea is this. Instead of thinking of shaving whiskers, you think, "I'm just using the razor to sweep off the lather." It's purely a mental thing. But it totally changed my shave! I tend to obsess and have to keep reminding myself to use no pressure, not to fight with the whiskers in the areas where they're like steel, etc.

This little Zen technique gave me an outstanding shave! My thanks to whoever it was that posted the tip.

P.S. The Haslinger soap is great. They say the scent is coconut. You couldn't prove it by me. Whatever it smells like, though, it smells fine and the frag is very slight once you lather your face with it.
