Tundra Artica v. (Saponificio Varesino) woody rose, oud

SV have stuffed a little Icelandic lichen in this soap to “soothe, purify, and calm” my skin as I shave. I have no idea if it really makes a difference, but I have to admit my face feels fine now, three hours after my shave. Fact is, though, my face always feels fine after an SV shave. I think they make just about the best soap on my shelf. Like all soap cookers, they put out different versions (SV calls them betas), from 4.1 to 4.3. Tundra Artica is 4.1, the oldest. It makes a lightish lather compared to the other betas, but the protection is every bit as excellent. It smells good, too. Mostly oud and rose with bits of other dark woody notes scattered in it.

Like many of us, I have a veritable cornucopia of shaving soaps from which to choose but a while back, when I went looking specifically for Caties Piment de la Vie I could not find it.  It was not I the bathroom basket where I keep "current rotation".  It wasn't in the bathroom cabinet where I store the "next quarter" soaps.  It wasn't in the home office Box of "newer exploratory " soaps.  And I would not find it in the garage fridge crisper drawers where I keep "archival soaps". Man, when you read this out loud it would seem I have a problem....
Well ladies and germs, I found it today on the bathroom shelf of son number 2 in Omaha NE so I used it.
Oddly now I cannot turn off italics so deal with it!  Great shave.  Fluffy lather.  Superb scent.  Good to know this soap has found a friend and will get used more often than I used it.  Lipripper660 out!
