New to the Den is Summer Break Soaps in the Field Day scent. As this is my first shave with it, I will withhold my blather but plan on the next couple of shaves being about this soap. Report to follow. Scent has notes of grass, floral, water, dirt, cedar. It's a tallow soap made in Kearny, NE. By a couple who are professional educators.

Thanks for the encouragement to keep writing these notes! The problem with this odd hobby of ours it that the actual shaving is over in 15 minutes. I'm certainly not trying to sell soap (as if any of us really needs to be persuaded to buy another tub  Wink ), but I do hope to help make everyone's 15 minutes more interesting and rewarding, and with luck give us all something to think about after the lather's been washed down the drain.

That's just the point! 15 minutes and it's gone but when others write about their experience I get another 15 minutes. Your writing really makes things come alive. It's also good to have fellow DFSers to help locate specific desired scent accords. It's like learning to throw a curve ball via instructions in a book vs having Bob Feller show and coach you in person. I feel I learn things that make my own experience better.

I still have a couple of Local Gent soaps but Cona Colada is not one of them. Always meant to pick it up but sadly that is not an option anymore. Tell us about the scent please. Please...... (And make it sound nasty so I don't feel bad for, missing the boat.)

How has your tub of Bois Floraux held up? I've got a tub of my own (looks like the same vintage as yours) that I haven't touched in ages. I noticed CRSW are no longer making it.

Are you still enjoying the scent and performance?

It seems to be holding up. The scent is just as strong as ever and the performance seems to be the same from what I remember. The soap has yellowed a bit and as with most of the other 'Select' line soaps I have, it seems to have shrunk away from he sides of the container a bit which can be a little frustrating as the soap tends to spin around a little when trying to lather from the tub. I don't use mine much anymore either. With so many soap formulas out there that to me perform just a little better than this one which i believe is the Select V2 if I remember correctly. Still a great performing soap though and I love the scent.
