Abbate Y La Mantia - Don Juan

Was looking for a Lime/Coconut scented soap and ended up buying this on a whim. Now it's honestly one of my very favorite soaps. Smells like a Bannana Cream Pie, and I know to most that's not going to sound appealing but it's very well done. Plus it's got just the right amount of Menthol and tremendous post shave.

Shaving Joy!

Stella Alpina (Saponificio Varesino) eucalyptus cologne

Saponificio Varesino’s soaps are billed as ‘triple milled’, a process that can produce a soap that’s as hard as an anvil. But my puck of Stella Alpina is actually quite pliable. Now it didn’t start out that way. My first few shaves with the soap were subpar. The puck was so dense, I couldn’t get enough soap aboard the brush to make a thick lather. But when I started to bloom it – as the directions on the package recommend – I got a fearsome heap of slick suds, and ever since then, a shave with Stella Alpina has been among the very best.

If I had to pick one SV soap to use, at this point it is probably Stella Alpina. I will note that when I got my puck of Stella Alpina, I noticed before blooming that it was a bit more pliable than some of their others. The 4.3 soaps are a bit on the softer side vs some of the first or older formulations.

Cheers!

I usually use rose scented soaps on Sunday (or I Coloniali Mango) and today it was Czech and Speake 88.

Cheers, Steve
