Martin Man
Honolulu, Hawaii
Cade (L’Occitane) sweet juniper
Shave 21 ・ 111 g left

I thought the scent of this old puck of Cade was shot. It’s been sitting around uncovered for years, so I figured all the good smell had seeped away. But I was happily surprised this afternoon to find that with a hearty load there’s still something good here to sink my nose into. I smell cedar and sandalwood and something that reminds me of Jergen’s hand lotion. It’s sweet and nice. Unfortunately, it’s not particularly smoky. So I’ll keep digging just to see if there are any ashes left in the bottom. I’ve had this puck seven years, and in that time I’ve gobbled down only four grams of soap. That means I’ve got just under six-hundred more shaves before I get to the bottom of this soap.

Spectre, thanks for your reviews of Martin de Candre’s new soaps. Absinthe sounds especially tempting.

I don't want to jinx it, but this one has really impressed me the last few times.
