What soap/cream did you use today?

Declaration Grooming Sweet Lemon

[As stated in the SOTD thread, as well:] Declaration Grooming makes two impeccable soap bases. I may slightly favor the older bison tallow over the newer Icarus, but that’s just personal preference. Sweet Lemon is a comforting, well-rounded scent with flawless performance.

Vétyver v. (Martin de Candre) citrus & vetiver

My brief experiment of using a soap several days in a row hasn’t amounted to much. Of the four or five soaps I’ve lathered so far, only LPL’s Traditionnel has improved with daily use. The other tubs lather just as well on day one as they do on day four or five. So enough with the test. I’m back to hopping from tin to tin with no set schedule.

Today’s soap, MdC Vétyver, makes a predictably good lather every time, no matter the water. If it weren’t so expensive and so heavy, I’d take it with me on my travels. It’s that reliable and it leaves my skin as smooth as glass. In spite of the name, this soap smells as much of grapefruit as of vetiver. Mild, clean, and uplifting, it’s a fragrance you could feel happy with every morning. A pity, though, it doesn’t smell more like roots and grass.

This has been my experience too but it has been fun to watch a puck get smaller.  I did notice that load times decreased with daily use but only because I watched the clock.  I really don't care if it takes a minute vs 45 seconds to get a good load to turn into lather.  Softer soaps seemed to not change at all.  One interesting thing though; I did find myself looking forward to yesterday's scent.  I may continue the "do over" for that reason alone.

Boy howdy! I like this scent. Who would have thought lavender and vanilla would play so well together? I was thinking about it the other day and usually in my mind I associate vanilla with sweet but this scent is not overly sweet at all.

Confidence is truly a great scent!
