DR Harris Windsor has been a favorite of mine for awhile now. The scent top note is citrus backed by patchouli and vetiver. Strength is about a 4 or 5 of 10 but remains steady during the shave and lingers Long after. Go ahead and wear any scent you wish because it is so faint as to not be intrusive. Windsorto me smells like howa man ought to smell. Load it, then load it some more, and just when you think you have it loaded, go at it some more. It's triple milled and hard like the back of your head and loading enough soap is often the reason gents don't have luck with this one. Do that and it'll be slick enough for ya!

Sounds awesome. Vetiver is a citrusy plant scent, right? So I'm picturing an earthy citrus patchouli... citrus forward.

I almost bought the cream for a travel tube. I wasn't sure about it, though. Any experience with their creams? It's expensive compared to Proraso, but if it's good, it's worth it.

Mike's Vetiver

The soap offers a nice woody-type, almost dirt-like, scent.  I followed it with Stirling Vetiver WH which has more of a grassy-vetiver scent (think along the lines of a freshly mowed lawn).  After rinsing off the WH, I then applied Declaration Grooming Dirtyver which, to my nose, has a slight citrus scent added.

I've used this combination several times and have found I love the progression of the vetiver scent.

I do love vetiver and you pretty much rode the vetiver roller coaster today!

Amen & amen! Windsor was my first soap and it's still one of my favorites. In fact, it's the only soap I've ever used right down to the slivers in the bottom of the bowl. As soon as my first puck was gone, I ordered another. At first I had no idea what I was smelling. All I knew was that Windsor smelled like my dad, and dad always smelled good. Now I take a deep sniff and I get notes of new leather and pepper sitting on a clean vetiver. There's also quite a bit of citrus in the mix, but I don't pick up much patchouli, so don't expect any earthiness. Windsor to me is the epitome of clean, discreet, and sober.

Italian Barbershop v. (Le Père Lucien) cinnamon, citrus, rosemary

On a hot summer afternoon one of my favorite coolers is a chilled orange sliced thin, dusted with cinnamon, and served with a scattering of mint. It's a Moroccan salad that's as exotic as it is refreshing. If this sounds good, you may want to try LPL's Italian Barbershop. It captures all the pleasant aroma of my orange salad. Cool citrus, nicely balanced with warm cinnamon, rests on a base of rosemary that takes the place of my mint and gives the scent some herby garden freshness.

Although the soap is called Italian Barbershop, it's not really what I would call a barbershop scent. Yes, it opens with rosemary and citrus, as most barbershop fragrances do, but it lacks the lavender, clary sage, patchouli, and oakmoss that to me are the key notes in any bonafide barbershop soap.

In fact the name for today's soap comes from an Italian FaceBook wet shaving group, Rasoio & Penello, who commissioned LPL to make the soap. Someone in their group must have a great schnoz, because this soap smells fine.

Citrus forward no doubt but I wouldn’t say earthy on this one. The patchouli would’ve support for the clean-type vetiver. This is a light and airy scent. Classic and classy.
