Shaving is definitely a YMMV activity. Different razors, blades, soaps, creams, brushes, bowls, and splashes all change the experience from user to user, day to day.

So...generally speaking, what is your Go To hardware? What is the first razor, blade, brush, and bowl(if applicable) you reach for when getting ready to shave?

What is your go to software?

For me:
Maggard Razors V3 on the MR22 handle with a Gillette 7o'clock green and my Razorock Boar brush and Crown King scuttle. Lately, I have been neglecting my V3 in favor of my new Slim and G Bar, but the V3 is still my favorite...for now..

Software...the first soap that pops in my head is always Beaver Woodwright Shipwreck Cove. An incredible soap all the way around, in my opinion. I like to follow it with Stirling Curveball aftershave spalsh. Both of these products were gifted to me, and I am absolutely in love with them. Just fantastic!

Your turn!

Hm. This is only right now, and only if I were going for the "no-brainer" choice in each category ("no muss, no fuss"):

Razor: OneBlade
Blade: Feather FHS
Brush: Custom Shavemac 2-band 26/56 bulb
Soap: Martin de Candre
AS: L'Occitane Cade ASB or Nancy Boy Blossomwood ASB

I think of all of these as "very reliable."

You just need to peruse my SOTD pics and you'll find out................................except for the brushes, though, as I adore every single one in my collection and I could never choose just one. Shy

Sorry, Chris, but mine is usually completely different from one day to the next and I have never thought about a "GoTo" setup.

Fantastic thread Chris! Normally I'd claim that I rotate products fairly equally (which is true to some extent with software), but it has become fairly obvious that I favor a few pieces of hardware.

In terms of razors, I do enjoy my ATT S2 and H2, but the S1 is just so buttery smooth that I tend to reach for it most often. Overall, it's just right in terms of aggression/efficiency for this daily shaver with sensitive skin issues. Fantastic product!

For brushes, I tend to favor my badger brushes (Emilion 2 and Chubby 2 Best) and my Antica Barbieria Colla boar. I can't quite articulate why, but I enjoy these brushes very much.

Hardware: Feather AS-D2 with Feather or Kai blade and Stirling Kong brush

Software: Barrister & Mann Lavanille, Leviathan, and Night Music (3 way favorite scent tie); matching aftershave tonics; Stirling unscented balm with menthol

Let's see here:

Razor: Titanium Wolfman SB ("Glamdring")
Blade: Still exploring with this razor, but currently Personna Red
Brush: Plisson L'Occitane Synthetic
Cream: Nancy Boy Replenishing Cream
AS: Barrister's Reserve Prototype (I like the "Cooling" one best)

I go for this when I want absolute assurance that it will be a good shave. Hasn't failed me yet. Smile

Nice picks! However, I am quite surprised B&M soap isn't your first choice. Do you get tired of using it since you have been making it for so long? Or do you just prefer shaving creams?

It felt churlish to mention my own product, so I wanted to create a list that had no vendor affiliation. Honestly, my favorite soaps are the prototype Glissant versions of our main soaps, but I've been getting such excellent shaves with creams of late that even these have fallen by the wayside.

Cream research will commence shortly. Big Grin

I'm curious. Barrister_N_Mann, by "prototype" Glissant do you mean the original Le Grande Chypre version with almond oil?
