I thought I'd pass on something I made for our Christmas gathering. It's an hors d'oeuvres. Bacon wrapped stuffed dates. Basically, they are dates stuffed with a blue cheese, wrapped in bacon and then drizzled in honey or a sherry syrup. I got the idea from a restaurant near our son's high school that he commutes to in Jersey City. We've been eating there whenever we are there in the evening. It's a french style bistro. Time consuming but so worth the satisfaction of watching people gobble them down, even if they aren't the healthiest thing in the world. I don't have any pics because everyone snapped them up as fast as I put them out.

Yes, it's always good - and very simple. And your cheesecake looks delicious.

Looks good gents! The cheesecake I can't possibly do anymore, but the eggs and sausage gravy I've been giving consideration to lately and yours looks delicious! My version will need to be my close to 100% lean ground pork turned into sausage and my no sodium and heart healthy biscuits (or yeast rolls)... not difficult at all to pull off. Yeah, I've been giving it serious thought.

I made some meatballs on Tuesday - I hate fiddling with lots of tiny meatballs so I made them a little bigger.

I don't have pics but I smoked two pork butts for a family get together at the cabin. 4 kids and spouses and 7 of the grandkids plus me and grandma. I got the meat sweats and over two days the better part wound up in pulled pork sammichs. M
